The Albanese Government is considering recommendations to make amendments to the Fair Work Act 2009 and the Sex Discrimination Act 1984.
These amendments would undermine the freedom of faith-based educational institutions in a number of ways.
For example, repealing Section 38 of the Sex Discrimination Act, which would remove the current protection afforded to faith-based institutions, and make it illegal for those institutions to discriminate against employees and volunteers in faith-based schools on the basis of "sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital or relationship status or pregnancy."
Not only would this open the flood gates for activists to attack faith-based schools, it would potentially force employers in these institutions to choose between obeying the law or following their faith-based principles.
Many parents are already concerned about the influence of progressive ideology in schools, and these proposed changes represent further erosion of religious freedoms in faith-based education.
Let’s send a clear message to the Prime Minister that we expect him and his government to protect faith-based schools.
Thank you for support.
Yours sincerely,
Alex Antic

Dear Prime Minister,
We are concerned about the the Government considering recommendations to make amendments to the Fair Work Act 2009 and the Sex Discrimination Act 1984.
We are concerned that these changes would mean the minimising of religious freedom in faith-based educational institutions.
Many parents send their children to faith-based schools because they want their children to receive a faith-based education that is consistent with their faith-based values.
Instead, these amendments would undermine faith-based principles and religious freedom.
Particularly concerning is the proposal to repeal Section 38 of the Sex Discrimination Act 1984, which would make it illegal for faith-based schools to discriminate on the basis of “gender identity”. This would force employers at faith-based schools to choose between obeying the law or following their faith-based principles.
Many Australians view this as an attack on faith-based educational institutions and religious freedom, in pursuit of an ideological progressive agenda.
We ask that you uphold religious freedom in faith-based schools.
